First 2 weeks and a trip to the Zoo

August 7, 2009

I’ve just finished up my first 2 weeks of my nanny job. It’s so much fun! The girls are absolutely wonderfully naughty! I mean that in a good way and not in the, they are bad children way. They are so much fun! They can be a handful at times I mean there are three of them and they are all the same age, and usually they are heading in three different directions. Sometimes I just don’t move fast enough for them because one is coming slowly down the stairs and one of the others wants me to be in the kitchen that second so she can get a gunkgunk (a drink) from the fridge. But if they were perfect angels my job would be so boring. I’m glad we have so much fun. Rachel is getting really good at saying the word duck! Rory loves to say the word fish. The way she says it is so funny. She purses her lips and says fish and blows the hair up on her forehead. Olivia is just too funny for words. Sometimes she just looks at you and growls and you can’t do anything but laugh, she makes the funniest sounds and absolutely loves to do all sorts of gymnastics. She loves to flip and tumble and so does Rory. Sometimes I just can't believe that I got the job. I don't think I could be happier doing anything else. On Friday we went to the zoo. We as in Heather, Matt and the girls, my Mom, Alex, Tristan and his friend Eric, Joyce and Randy Thompson, Sherri who used to work at the daycare, and Matt’s sister Hannah and her boy friend Jeff showed up towards the end. We had so much fun. The girls seemed to have a great time. We got there and walked around the lake and the girls had a blast looking at the ducks and other birds in the lake. Then they ate and we waited for my mom to get to there, she had a bit of trouble getting to the zoo, she isn’t very good at directions, but she ended up making it there finally. Then we ate and mom and the boys went to see the stingrays because Mom and Alex hadn’t seen them yet and the stingrays leave in September. Mom said she really enjoyed it, I’m glad she did, she rarely gets to do anything. She was too funny; she couldn’t get over how the stingrays basically maul your arm off when you feed them (they don't really maul you it just feels like it. haha). I decided to hang out with Heather, Joyce, Sherri and Olivia and Rory. I chose not to go to the stingrays because I didn’t think mom needed to pay for me when I’ve been there a lot already and she and Alex hadn’t. She was already paying extra for Eric so it was okay. I got to hang out with the girls how could that be so bad. We went and saw the bears and the penguins while Matt and Rachel were in the bird house and mom and the boys were at the stingrays. Rory had so much fun in the penguin house; her face was adorable she was so excited. She kept doing her excited face, I think that was her favorite part. It was warm and the girls’ cheeks were pink so it was a good thing that we went to the penguin house it’s nice and cold in there. Rachel and Matt caught up with us while we were in there. When we got done we went back to the table where Randy was sitting. Mom and them got finished and met us back there at the table. Then we decided to go and see the giraffes and on the way Sherri got a call from work and had to leave. We saw the giraffes and the wild asses and Tristan and Eric were so impressed with themselves because they could say ass without getting in trouble. It was pretty funny. Then some lady and her family passed by and looked at us and asked if the babies were like twins or triplets or something. We said yea or something. I mean seriously sometimes people ask the stupidest things. Heather and I were just laughing. After we were done looking at the animals in the red rock area we went back to the sea lions and to where the music was, Joyce and Randy were already gone, so we had no table, but that was okay because the girls were happy dancing. We sat on some benches and watched the sea lions, while we sat there mom and Tristan and Eric went to get ice cream, and we sat with the girls and gave them some more to eat. Matt’s sister Hannah and her friend Jeff met us while we were waiting for mom and the boys to get back. At that point the zoo was about to close and it was already staying open late because it was boogie night at the zoo. Then we got ready to go and changed the girls’ clothes because they all had blueberry butt because they’d dropped blueberries in the strollers and sat on them half the time we were there. After the girls got changed Alex had a really hard time telling who was who because they were all in the same color. He could hardly get them right when they were in separate colors. I asked once earlier in the day what their names were and he said orange, green and yellow. Heather said close enough. Then we all left and went home. It was a really good time. I love the girls so much.
